Orient kicked off the new year with an addition to its Orient Sport collection, the Orient Conductor (FFM01002W0). While it is designed to be a sporty watch, it reminds me of the Orient Star and the Executive collections. I say that not only because it’s a versatile and affordable watch that is great for everyday wear, but also because it has some of the signature features of it’s pricier timepieces.
The Conductor features a 42mm case rated for up to 100m water resistance. The sunburst dial is striking with a pearl and metallic finish. At 12 o’clock is a power reserve indicator that features a lumed hand, and at 6 o’clock is a date display. The picket fenced hands are half-skeletoned with lume on both ends. All of this is protected by a sapphire crystal.
Under the dial is Orient’s in-house caliber 46U40, decorated and visible through the watch’s see-through caseback. The watch comes on a brushed stainless steel bracelet with polished accents. Priced at $505 and boasting an in-house movement, exhibition caseback, sapphire crystal, power reserve indicator, and handsome look, the Orient Conductor seems like a great value.
